Our Story
Nestled in the serene Goot River Valley of the Eastern Cape, Timbila Game Reserve is a haven for both wildlife and guests. Named after the traditional Mozambican xylophone crafted from natural materials, Timbila embodies the Rhythms of the Earth, a place where nature moves at its own pace and a sense of calm flows through every moment.
Our reserve is home to a rich diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles, and plants. With no dangerous game on the property, visitors can safely explore on foot or by mountain bike, immersing themselves fully in the beauty of the bush. Nature enthusiasts of all kinds will find endless opportunities for discovery, from birdwatching to flora exploration.
Accommodation at Timbila blends comfort with authenticity. Our camps feature fully equipped kitchens and spacious safari-style tents, offering a balance of homely luxury and a true outdoor feel.
